MILNE David Alexander

Aida Jane Milne (Blackburn) came from New Zealand to Albany WA to marry David Alexander Milne of "Moana" Borden in 1896. David Milne was born in Scotland & moved to New Zealand aged 20 yrs. The couple had 3 children together, Douglas Blackburn Milne, Malcom Alexander Milne & Elsie Moana Blanch Milne.
Aida died at Borden in August of 1925 & is buried in Katanning cemetery
David had a son William Allan Milne from his first marriage to Jessie Gibson Hoey (Jessie died in New Zealand before David came to Australia).
William, known as Allan, married Ivy Evylin Alice Martin, also born in New Zealand December 1886, they met & married in October 1912 when both working in Winton, Queensland, later living at "Moana" Borden.
 Ivy & Allan had 4 children, Vida Alice Jessie Milne April 1914, who married Spencer Robson Stanes whom she met when Spencer visited "Moana" during school holidays with Vida's next younger brother lan (Mick) Allan Milne. Vida & Spencer spent a number of years in Gnowangerup where their 2 sons Allan & Justin were born, they ran an agency & service centre for Austin motor vehicles. Later moving to Mandurah & eventually Queensland. Spencer died in Queensland & Vida returned to Perth where she died in May 1999.


 

Mick married Mavis Pollock Lohoar, born in Neutral Bay Sydney May 1908, who's family lived on "Coromup" property Gnowangerup in 1941. Mavis was involved in the Borden tennis club, Golf club, Bowling club, St David's church in Borden, Borden CWA, St Margaret's Anglican Vestry in Gnowangerup, Base radio operator for the Borden Bush Fire Brigade, this was at the "Moana" homestead while Mick was brigade captain & the Borden P & C.
Ivy & Allan's third child David Athol Milne moved away from the district before he was married.
Andrew Alexander Milne, their youngest child married Phoebe Porter February 1944, Phoebe was born at Kukerin April 1924, they also raised 2 sons, Andrew Max Milne & Gary Allan Milne & lived on "Moana", were involved with local tennis, golf & bowls, also the Borden P & C.
Mavis & Phoebe Milne both left the Borden district with the sale of "Moana" in 1970.
Millicent Elisa Alice Lohoar, born Kynton Victoria mother of Mavis Milne, Dorris Howard Lohoar & Robert Kirkby Lohoar who married Barbara Miller, they also lived on "Coromup" where they raised 2 children, Roderic Kirkby Lohoar & Jill Barbara Lohoar.
Roderic Lohoar married Elsie Grace Parker from Gnowangerup, they lived on Coromup until the property was sold in the 1960's.
In 1938? Dorris Howard Lohoar married Edgar Donald Davis of Kebarringup where the family farmed & raised 3 children, Shirley Brooking Davis, Hugh Donald Lohoar
Davis & John Howard Davis. The property was sold & the family moved to Perth while the children were all quite young.
Elsie Milne married John David Stone & the couple lived on Madjetup. They had 3 sons Gale, Peter & John.
Gale married Lorna Wallace, a nurse at Gnowangerup hospital, they had a daughter & a son all living at Madjetup until moving to Albany.
Peter married Sophie Muir Kingston from Borden, they had 5 children all born after 1940.
John married Irene Major from Williams & they lived on Elegie near Williams, they had 3 children
Enid Murray who's family came from SA to Glen Turret, Borden married Malcom Milne, they lived on Yardup which was originally all one property with Moana.
Enid & Malcom had 3 boys Kevin, Murray & Graham & a daughter Jeanette who married Peter Thompson from Toompup, they had 3 children.
Kevin married Sally Wellard from Gnowangerup, they had 5 children.

Murray married Susan Gumina from Cranbrook, farmed at Cranbrook & raised 2 children.
Graham married Mary Cremasco form Borden, originally SA? farmed on Killesby & had 4 (?) Children.
